Johnny Tapia Passes
Five-time champion Johnny Tapia, 45, was found dead in his home in Albuquerque, N.M. last night. A family member found his body and immediately called police. Tapia in the past had battled drug addiction. His fight record totaled at 59 wins, 5 losses, 2 draws, and 30 knockouts. Tapia’s most memorable fights were against Marco Antonio Barrera, Paulie Ayala and cross-town rival Danny Romero. We will have more news later as this story develops.
