What Is ESPN Select?
ESPN Select, formerly ESPN+, is ESPN’s streaming service, launched in April 2018 for fans who want more live sports and original programming than traditional TV can fit. ESPN says ESPN+ features more than 30,000 live events across college sports, international soccer, golf, tennis, combat sports and more, plus a full library of ESPN Originals, studio shows, documentaries and on-demand replays. Since ESPN introduced its flagship streaming service in August 2025, ESPN+ content has been available through the ESPN Select plan, which is built around the ESPN+ library, and through the ESPN Unlimited plan, which adds ESPN’s full lineup of networks. Longtime ESPN+ subscribers continued on the Select plan.

MMA on ESPN Select: Where PFL Fans Live
If MMA is your sport, ESPN has built a home for you. The Professional Fighters League has been part of ESPN’s lineup since 2019, and it brought something new to the sport: a season, playoffs, and a championship, with champions winning a $1 million prize in the league format that made PFL famous. Over the years, PFL has grown into a global MMA brand, expanded by its acquisition of Bellator in 2023. ESPN renewed and expanded its partnership with PFL right after that deal, covering the regular season, playoffs, and world championships, along with a pay-per-view Super Fight series. PFL’s CEO said at the time that the league’s audience on ESPN had grown about 30 percent year over year across its early seasons.
The format has evolved since then, but the promise is the same: elite MMA with real stakes. ESPN adds the studio coverage, previews, fighter features, and on-demand replays that help you follow rising prospects and champions across divisions, and the library keeps something ready for you even between fight nights. Depending on the event, PFL cards stream on ESPN Select or air on ESPN’s TV networks, which are included in the Unlimited plan, so check the schedule and choose the plan that fits how you like to watch.
