A Night of Live March 30 Boxing in Hockessin Delaware Preview

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Hockessin, Delaware (March 29th, 2019)– Promoter Diane Fischer Cristiano, Dee Lee Promotions and matchmaker Nick Tiberi will present ‘A Night of Live Boxing in Hockessin, Delaware’ at PAL Center in Hockessin, Delaware, on Saturday, March 30, 2019, featuring ten exciting bouts of live boxing.

The first eight bouts will be four round prospects bouts, followed by the six-round preliminary bout to the main event featuring 16-3 lightweight Joey Tiberi Jr. of Newark, Delaware versus Ghana 4-5 veteran Benjamin Borteye, who now fights of out Silver Spring, Maryland. The eight-round main event will feature 10-1 undefeated super welterweight prospect Ismael Garcia of Vineland, New Jersey, will fight 23-8-2 Fabian Lyimo of Das-Es-Salaam, Tanzania.

In a unique preview factoid, Lyimo’s last three losses came to opponents with a combined record of 38-0 when he fought them. Add Garcia to the list, and if Lyimo loses to Garcia, his last four losses will have been to opponents with a Rocky Marciano like combined record of 49-0-1. In August 2016, Lyimo lost in Namibia in a WBO African regional title fight to Julius Indongo, who won the IBF and IBO World Super Lightweight titles in his next bout. Lyimo knocked out three opponents for the ten count in 2017, and has 15 knockouts overall, so his record of experience could be deceiving. Lyimo has won at eight rounds and drawn at 10 rounds, while Garcia has never won at eight rounds and has never gone past the eighth round. If Lyimo succeeds in dragging Garcia into the later rounds, it could spell trouble. Garcia is predicted to win by knockout between rounds three and six.

Trinidad and Tobago heavyweight Jerome Morris will open the card and make his professional debut in a four-rounder against Brian Haneschlager, who is also debuting.

Tickets will be available at the door of the PAL Center at 7259 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Delaware. Doors open 6 P.M., first bout 7 P.M. on Saturday evening, March 30, 2019. General admission tickets are $45 in advance, $50 at the door, ringside seats $50 in advance, $55 at the door. For advance ticket sales contact Diane Lee Fischer Cristiano at 1.609.868.4243. Free parking as available on site at the PAL Center. Red Roof Inn in Hockessin, Delaware has motel accommodations available for traveling fight fans and can be contacted at 1.302.292.2870.
