HERRERA VS. LUNDY WEIGH-IN VIDEO & FACE OFF

Los Angeles, CA (July 11th, 2015)– On Saturday, July 11 Golden Boy Promotions features a battle between Southern California’s Mauricio “El Maestro” Herrera (21-5, 7 KOs) and Titlist “Hammerin'” Hank Lundy (25-4-1, 12 KOs) of Philadelphia in a 10-round super lightweight bout for the NABF Super Lightweight Championship. Herrera vs. Lundy will be the final event at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena before it closes permanently and will be shown on HBO Latino beginning at 11:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT).
Herrera hasn’t had the best year in boxing. In December, Herrera lost a unanimous decision to Jose Benavidez in a World Boxing interim lightweight title bout. And in March 2014, he lost a controversial majority decision to Danny Garcia in a WBA/WBC super lightweight title bout. Many people in the boxing media felt he won both fights.

Hank Lundy has lost three of his last six and a 10-round bouts for the vacant North American Boxing Federation super lightweight title. Lundy has never fought on the West Coast and In his last fight against Thomas Dulorme, Lundy lost to a split decision. “He better be ready man, I just know he better be ready for hammer time” Lundy told me.

The co-main event features a10-round lightweight match-up for the NABO Lightweight Title between Michael “The Artist” Perez (22-1-2, 10 KOs) of Newark, New Jersey and Las Vegas transplant Sharif “The Lion” Bogere (27-1, 19 KOs). Starting the televised card will be 2012 U.S. Olympian Joseph “Jojo” Diaz Jr. (16-0,10 KOs) who will return to the ring to face former WBC Silver Featherweight Champion Rene “Gemelo” Alvarado (22-4, 15 KOs) of Managua, Nicaragua in a 10-round Bout.
