Riyadh, Saudi Arabia  (June 6th, 2024)–    The upset loss and fall by former World Boxing Council World Heavyweight champion Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder to Zhilei ‘Big Bang’ Zhang in the fifth round at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on June 1, 2024 in the 5 versus 5 card of the fighters of promoters Frank Warren versus Eddie Hearn has open the door to a major opportunity to heavyweight contender Martin Bakole.

Wilder, 43-4-2 with 42 knockouts, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was supposed to fight up and coming American heavyweight contender Jared ‘The Real Big Baby’ Anderson, 17-0 with 15 knockouts, Houston, Texas, the regional WBC USA and WBO International Heavyweight champion.

Instead, Anderson, ranked seventh worldwide on BoxRec, will fight Martin Bakole, 20-1 with 15 knockouts, Airdrie, Scotland, by way of the Kananga, Democratic Republic of the Congo, ranked tenth in the world on BoxRec, at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on August 8, 2024, on the Thomas Crawford versus Israil Madrimov card, who will be fighting for Madrimov’s WBA Super Welterweight and the WBO Interim Super Welterweight titles.
