The Middleweight Eraser of UFC, Paulo Costa
By Robert Brizel, Real Combat Media MMA Correspondent
His record of 12 wins includes 11 knockouts and one submission, with all opponents being ‘erased’ within the distance. Costa fights for Champion Team, Team Rubens Dorea, and the Caveirinha Jiu-Jitsu Family.
Paulo Costa debuted in the UFC in 2017, winning three bouts by TKO in the first and second rounds, leading to a new multi-fight contract with the UFC. At UFC 226 in July 2018, Costa stopped Uriah Hall in the second round by TKO, earning him Performance of the Night honors. Costa was scheduled to fight Yoel Romero, first in November 2018, and then rescheduled for April 2019, due to recovery time for previous injuries. However, on March 7, 2019, Costa was replaced by former Strikeforce Middleweight champion Ronaldo Souza for the April 2019 UFC 3 ESPN event instead.
When April 2019 arrives, due to postponements and other factors, Costa will have been inactive over nine months.
