MICHAEL BISPING VS. GEORGES ST-PIERRE IS OFFICIAL FOR THE MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE

Las Vegas, NV (March 1st, 2017)– UFC President Dana White today announced on ESPN that UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping will defend his title against former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

Yoel Romero was likely the next contender to Bisping’s title, however Bisping wanted to have his first million dollar fight of his career and chose Georges St-Pierre.

GSP is returning to the UFC for the first time since November 2013 when he retired after defeating  Johny Hendricks in the main event at UFC 167 . Many people who saw this fight, felt Hendricks won.

A date or venue for the fight has not yet been announced. A press conference is scheduled Friday at UFC 209.
