After Snowstorm! DiBella Entertainment Presents Prospects Card at BB King

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

New York, NY (January 26th, 2016)– Lou DiBella Entertainment and matchmaker Felipe Gomez will present an exciting seven bout card of pro boxing at BB King Blues Club & Grill on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2015, in Manhattan, New York City’s first boxing card since the weekend snowstorm.

In the main event, rising super bantamweight contender Luis ‘KO King’ Rosa, 21-0 with 10 knockouts, New Haven, Connecticut, is favored to win by eight round decision over an 89 bout Mexican veteran with ten years of experience, German Meraz, 52-36-1 with 30 knockouts, Agua Prieto, Mexico. One cannot praise Lou DiBella enough for allowing Rosa to take on such a dangerous experienced opponent. DiBella will find out soon enough if Rosa has ‘it’ which so far he does. Risk is the name of the game. Should be a fantastic bout, with Meraz certain to go for broke to score a knockout if he falls behind on the cards.

Super lightweight Louis Cruz, 11-0 with five knockouts, Bronx, New York, is favored to win by stoppage in a question mark bout against 10-1 Polish southpaw Michal Chudecki.

The question mark is Chudecki was knocked out in the first round in November 2014, in  Krakow, Poland. Who will be the fighter stepping back into the ring on Wednesday night, and why is he here? Was his last loss for good reason, or is he a protected fighter? Those questions will be answered against Cruz, as Chudecki is an unknown commodity.

Ukrainian super lightweight Valentyn ‘The Sabre’ Golovko, 21-0 with 14 knockouts, will face former contender turned trial horse Jerry Belmontes, 21-8 with six knockouts, Corpus Christi, Texas. Golovko is favored by eight round decision, as the faded Belmontes is expected to hold and get on his bicycle to try to survive as the bout progresses.

2008 Olympian and 12-0-1 light heavyweight prospect Lenin Castillo of the Dominican Republic is favored to win by knockout over 8-0-1 Marcelo Tavares of Sao Paulo, Brazil, whose record is padded. Everyone is entitled to a chance, though. It’s a free country.

Former female world super bantamweight champion Shelly Vincent, 15-0, of Providence, Rhode Island, is favored to win by early round TKO over Renata Domsodi, 12-7, Budapest, Hungary, which does not necessarily translate to ‘hungry’. Two minute rounds.

Ian Green, an 8-0 middleweight prospect from Paterson, New Jersey, is favored to win by TKO anytime from round four on against 5-2 Devaun Lee of Queens, New York.

11-0-1 featherweight prospect Derrick Murray of Saint Louis, Missouri, is favored to win by decision over 5-5 traveler Darryl Hayes of Houston, Texas.
