Alexander Povetkin Battles Mike Perez In WBC Heavyweight Eliminator
Moscow, Russia (March 31st, 2015)– Heavyweights, Alexander Povetkin and Mike Perez fight on May 22nd in a heavyweight Championship elimination bout in Moscow, and the victor will progress , to take on WBC Champion Deontay Wilder.
Perez (21-1-1, 13 KOs), aged 29, originally from Cuba and based in Ireland, lost by decision in close bout against Bryant Jennings last July, but then bouncd back on February 5th defeating Darnell Wilson with a second round TKO. He’s trained by Robert Garcia.
Povetkin aged 35 from Russia (28-1, 20 KOs), suffered his only defeat against Wladimir Klitschko in 2013. In 2014 he knocked out Manuel Char. And then he stopped Carlos Takam, to win the WBC Silver Championship.
