David Price Captures the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Titles
Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom – David Price(13-0, 11 KOs) halts Sam Sexton(15-3, 6 KOs) in the fourth round to capture the vacant British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles. Price set the pace in the first round with his stiffed jab and unloaded combinations when Sexton was on the ropes. Sexton had a hard time getting inside in the second as Price landed decent bodyshots. In the third Price knockdown Sexton with a right hand near the end of the round. Price again floored Sexton early in the fourth with an uppercut. About a minute later into the round, Sexton goes down yet again from a right hand. This time however the referee put an end to the fight. The venue was at the Aintree Equestrian Centre.
