GH3 Promotions Presents Nine Bout USA Showtime Atlantic City Card at Boardwalk Hall

Atlantic City, NJ (February 12, 2016)– USA Showtime SHOBOX The New Generation and Vito Mielnicki’s GH3 Promotions will present an exciting nine bout card of professional boxing Friday evening, February 19, 2016, at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. In the main event, Adam ‘Mantequilla’ Lopez is favored to win his first defense of his World Boxing Association Fedelatin Super Bantamweight title over challenger Mario Munoz.

Lopez, 14-0 with seven knockouts, San Antonio, Texas, has a high quality of opponent. His last five opponents combined for 64 wins, and none of them had a losing record. Munoz, 16-0-1 with 10 knockouts, Guadalajara, Mexico, also has a high quality of opponent. His last nine opponents combined for 114 wins, but also includes two meaningless wins over professional debuts, and one no contest in an IBF Youth super bantamweight bout.

Munoz has never been seen outside of Mexico. While not doubting the career accomplishments of such fighters as Ruben Olivares, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Salvador Sanchez, Carlos Zarate, Jose Luis Ramirez, Jose Napoles, Juan Manuel Marquez, Saul Alvarez, Pipino Cuevas, and other notables, Munoz is not in their category.

Lopez is favored to win by ten round unanimous decision to retain his WBA title.

Super middleweight Jerry ‘The King’s Son’ Odom, 13-2 with 12 knockouts, Bowie, Maryland, is favored to win over Ronald Ellis. Odom’s last four opponents have been top notch. Ellis, 12-0 with 10 knockouts and one no contest, Lynn, Massachusetts, has a padded record with opponents who are all losers. Odom is favored to win by stoppage in round five or later in the scheduled eight rounder. Ellis might be able to fight better than he is credited for being able to do, and will try to win, which could make the bout somewhat highly interesting. Odom must make weight and fight the bout at 168 pounds or less to win.

Super middleweight southpaw John Magda, 11-0 with seven knockouts, Rutherford, New Jersey, is favored to win by a close unanimous eight round decision over Christopher Brooker, 7-1 with five knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Brooker decisioned 8-0 Leo Hall this past December. However, Magda decisioned Dionisio Miranda, a former contender, in August of last year.  Magda’s last two opponents had 99 bouts combined.

The super featherweight bout between Lavisas Williams, 8 -0-1 with three knockouts, Rochester, New York, and O’Shanique ‘Cold Water’ Foster, 9-1 with six knockouts, Houston, Texas, is a tossup. Foster lost to Samuel Teah, while Williams beat Samuel Teah. A lower weight bout favors Williams, while a higher super lightweight bout favors Foster.

7-0 welterweight southpaw Arturo Trujillo, Easton, Pennsylvania, has four knockouts on his record. Five of his seven opponents have winning records. His opponent, Jeffrey Wright, 3-1 with three knockouts,       Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has three knockouts of bums. The only fighter with a winning record he fought knocked out Wright in the first round last May. Trujillo will knock Wright out.

Popular local Atlantic City welterweight Anthony ‘Juice’ Young, 11-1 with five knockouts, is favored to win by six round unanimous decision over Skender Halili, 8-1 with eight knockouts, Fort Worth, Texas. Halili’s record is padded, and he is a super welterweight.

Heavyweight southpaw Dan Pasciolla, 6-1, Brick, New Jersey, is favored to win by unanimous four round decision over Brendan ‘Brutal’ Barrett, 3-0-1 with three knockouts, Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. There’s nothing brutal about Barrett’s four previous opponents, who have only one win combined. Pasciolla might stop him, given that fact.

Miami, Florida welterweight Hector Frometa, 1-0, is favored to win by second round stoppage over Jersey City, New Jersey journeyman Jordan Rosario, 0-2, who has been stopped in both of his previous bouts in the second round.

Debuting Philadelphia welterweight Elijah Vines is favored to win by early round stoppage over 0-4 Alex Asbury. The real question mark in this bout is Alex Asbury is listed on BoxRec as a light heavyweight who fights between 158 and 169 pounds. Asbury has been knocked out in all four of his fights, the last three in the first round. He is not likely to make 147 pounds, and is a better candidate to try a different profession after Vines gets through with him.
