Manny Pacquiao Sprains Ankle During a Basketball Game

Manila, Philippines (August 27th, 2013) – According to Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News, Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao suffered a slight ankle injury while playing basketball last weekend, but the former world welterweight champion shrugged it off.

“Hindi kasi ako naka-suot ng ankle support,” Pacquiao said in an interview with Dyan Castillejo of ABS-CBN News.

Pacquiao just started training for his November 24 fight against Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios, which will be held in Macau.

Pacman’s official training camp will not officially open until his trainer, Freddie Roach, arrives in General Santos City this October.

The injury hopefully will not delay any of future training plans.

Pacquiao has not fought since he lost by knockout to Juan Manuel Marquez in December of 2012.
