Southpaw Heavyweight Sensation Magomed Abdulsalamov Fight Preview
By Robert Brizel, Real Combat Media Correspondent
Los Angeles, CA ( March 5th, 2013)– Russian heavyweight knockout southpaw sensation Magamed Abdulsalamov, 16-0 with 16 knockouts, now fighting out of Oxnard, California, will put his knockout string on the line against untested 21-1 Victor Bisbal of Puerto Rico, who has 15 knockouts. Bisbal has not fought outside of Puerto Rico in the past six years. Bisbal is tested, having come off the canvas in the first round to stop Jameel McCline in the second round and win the WBC USNBC Heavyweight title in September 2012.

The bout will be the co-main event of an eight round card at Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Friday March 8, 2013, promoted by Samson Lewcowitz and Samson Boxing on ESPN 2 and ESPN Deportes. Real Combat Media will be covering the card, bringing you the latest inside stories on Samson Boxing.
The card also features: John Jackson and Julius ‘The Chef’ Jackson (both are the sons of former middleweight and light middleweight world champion Julian ‘The Hawk’ Jackson); a ten round crossroads bout between rising light welterweights Emmanuel ‘Tranzformer’ Taylor of Maryland and Victor Manuel ‘Mermelada’ Cayo of Dominican Republic; and a six round bout featuring 10-0 New Jersey middleweight prospect Thomas ‘Cornflake’ LaManna and veteran Joshua Snyder.
Bisbal has fought nobody. When Bisbal fought Zach Page and Ruben Rivera, lower fights, he was given the decision-but clearly lost those fights. Bisbal has got a chin, because if you’ve gotten hit by Zach Page and you don’t go down, you’ve got a chin.
Bisbal has not fought any heavyweight fighter of consequence except trialhorse Zack Page, so he really has not been tested. There is no fight with Abdulsalamov. Bisbal will be lucky to get out of the first 30 seconds of the first of the first round.
Bisbal doesn’t know how to run, but his limited ability to move (if he tries such a tactic) will depend on what sized ring they have at Resorts Casino. Usually Resorts has a large ring. Bisbal knows how to hold. Bisbal cannot hit with any power. Bisbal was a good technical fighter in the amateurs, but not in the pros. ‘B’ caliber fighters present a problem for Bisbal. You put an ‘A’ caliber fighter like Abdulsalamov with serious knockout power in front of Bisbal, and guess what will happen? Boom!
Abdulsalamov has knocked out: Jameel McCline, a former top ranked heavyweight; 13-1-1 Maurice Byarm; 11-0 Jason Pettiway; and 8-0 Pedro Rodriguez. Anybody with any common sense would go to Las Vegas and bet the house on Absulsalamov, who should destroy Victor Bisbal within two rounds. Abdulsalamov is on the way up to the top of the heavyweight division, and has disposed of the last five fighters he faced with winning records in four rounds or less, fighters with a combined 88 wins.
Prediction: Amagomed Abdulsalamov by knockout over Victor Bisbal within four rounds, but probably sooner. Could be Abdulsalamov, along with Robert Helenius, Deontay Wilder, Bryan Jennings, and Tyson Fury, is moving towards the top and a fight with the Klitschko brothers or Alexander Povetkin. If not, Abdulsalamov getting real close to it. Abdulsalamov is a great fighter, and he is going to put a hurting on Victor Bisbal. Magomed Abdulsalamov is worthy of better opposition.
