Lou DiBella Fighters So Good Nobody Wants To Fight Them
By Robert Brizel, Real Combat Media Correspondent
New York, NY (February 23rd, 2013)–In covering a recent DiBella Entertainment card in New York City, and watching Lou DiBella’s fighters shine, it becomes crystal clear all of a sudden: Lou DiBella’s stable of fighters is fantastic at the moment. Good fighters simply don’t want to fight them. Lou DiBella and matchmaker Joe Quiambo deserve great credit for moving Lou’s fighters well and keeping them busy.
The big problem for Lou DiBella still remains: Lou DiBella’s fighters are so good nobody wants to fight them. DiBella was very open about sounding his horn about wanting to match his best fighters against Golden Boy’s best fighters, do mega fight cards at Barclays Center which make big money, keep fight fans happy, and get something going.
Real Combat Media has always seen such rising fighters as Ivan Redkach, Will Rosinsky, Lamar Russ, Sergio Martinez, Randall Bailey, Seanie Monaghan and Travis Peterkin in action. After watching some of Lou’s new prospects wipe the floor with their opponents, it dawned that these fighters are already world class because they have been trained and handled so well. True, some fighters like Tor Hamer, Matthew Macklin and Yuri Foreman have fallen short of the mark. One way or theother, though, the common denominator is Lou DiBella’s fighters have instant name recognition because Lou gets their name-and the word out there.
Gabriel Bracero is available at 140 pounds, Isaac Chilemba is available at 175 pounds. Both of these talented DiBella Entertainment fighters are ready to go into the cute for a world title bout versus Golden Boy fighters. Lou DiBella has a valuable point. Lou’s fighters sell tickets and pay-per-view. The Barclay Center is here is New York City, available to do great shows in Brooklyn involving many of the local fighters promoted by Lou. DiBella can make a great deal of money if Golden Boy would come to the table and get some more matches going with New York City areas fighters, some of whom belong to Lou.
Cancellations and postponements have left the new Barclays Center hanging, but by having the best and most talented local fighters on every Barclays Center card, it really makes sense. DiBella keeps doing the best cards on his own, and admittedly, knows the game of boxing best. Golden Boy has its shoe heel inside the Barclays Center. As a new venue, Barclays Center has the potential for a long history of greatness in professional sports. Let’s hope Golden Boy Promotions, DiBella Entertainment, Havoc, and all of the local promoters in the game of boxing can do many good shows working together in 2013 and beyond.
Maybe then the ‘best’ fighters promoted out there can fight each other and give the fans their money’s worth at Barclays Center. For the moment, some of Lou DiBella’s top fighters and prospects will continue having trouble finding opponents.
