K-1 World Grand Prix Final 8 in Zagreb, Croatia, on March 15th

K-1 Global Holdings Ltd in association with Fight Channel proudly announced that the K-1 World Grand Prix Final 8 of 2012 season of the most prestigious tournament of martial arts, will be held on March 15th in Zagreb, Croatia.

In a press conference, held at Intercontinental Hotel from Bucharest (Romania), CEO of K-1 Global, mr Mike Kim, announced the location, who will be for the first time in history outside of Japan.  “K-1 is global, fans from all around the world must have access to this final event. We will go to all the  countries where we have fans”, say Mr. Kim.

K-1 World Grand Prix Final 8 will take place at Zagreb Arena (15.000 seats) and the official press conference is scheduled for January 29th in Zagreb. Croatian legend Mirko Filipovic and romanian star Catalin Morosanu will be there for the announcement.

After Final 16 from Tokyo, the new K-1 champion will be decided in one night – eight men tournament at Zagreb Arena. Will be the event with the biggest prize in the history of K-1 and the winner will get one million US Dollars.

K-1 Global Holdings Ltd announced also the partnership with Superkombat about worldwide try-outs for heavyweight division who will start on January 25th in Athens, Greece. It’s very important to discover a new heroes generation so we start this project in all continents”, say Mr Eduard Irimia, Superkombat president.

Worldwide tryouts will continue in Germany (tryouts, 9-10 february, Dortmund), United Kingdom (try-outs, 15-16 february, London), Croatia (event selection, 23 february, Opatija), USA (event selection, 28 february, Columbus), Cyprus (tryouts, 1 march, Nicosia), Egypt (tryouts, 8 march, Cairo), Bulgaria (tryouts, 15 march, Sofia), Romania (tryouts, 18 march, Bucharest) and Brazil (tryouts, 23 march, Sao Paulo).

Also the winners of Superkombat WGP heavyweight series will qualify for K-1 premium stages from 2013 season.
