Former champion Ponce De Leon victorious Friday night
Las Vegas, Nevada — Former WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon(43-4, 35 KOs) pitched a one sided ten round unanimous decision over Eduardo “Chucky” Lazcano(24-3, 11 KOs). De Leon was crowned WBC USNBC super featherweight champion with the victory and won just about every moment of the contest. The scores were all read at 100-90.
In other action, Ishe “Sugar Shay” Smith(23-5, 11 KOs) ended matters against Ayi Bruce(21-7, 13 KOs) with a fifth round TKO in a jr. middleweight fight. It was the first fight for Smith in 18 months.
Former women’s WBC lightweight champion Jessica Rakoczy(32-3, 12 KOs) stopped Brittany Cruz(8-6-1, 1 KO) in the fourth round. Cruz was down in the third and again in the fourth. Referee Vic Drakulich had no choice but stop it after the second unanswered knockdown in the fourth round.
