Pacquiao’s Last Fight Could Be Bradley?

By: Frank Rivera

ABS-CBN News.com is reporting that P4P king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is contemplating retirement at the end of this year.

ABS-CBN News reporter Rea Lara, writes that Pacquiao upcoming fight with undefeated challenger Timothy Bradley on June 9th, could be his last fight.

Pacquiao’s reason for contemplating retirement according to the article, “It may not look good to be seen fighting in the boxing ring now that he has accepted the Church’s offer to become a Bible ambassador.” Pacquiao also wants to focus on his political career.

If, what ABS-CBN News report is true, that June 9th will be Manny Pacquiao’s last fight, then the most anticipated fight of our era Pacquiao vs Mayweather Jr. will never happen. The debate of who would win between the two, will continue for a very long time with no answer.

One way we can all look at this possible retirement is, that it could allow boxing to finally move forward with other possible fights in the years to come.

If, Pacquiao does retire in 2013, could we also see Mayweather Jr. hang up the gloves? Or, will he go on to face other fighters such as Sergio Martinez, Austin Trout, Amir Khan,Erislandy Lara, Saul Alvarez, Paul Williams or Victor Ortiz in a rematch? I guess we will just have to wait and find out.
