Osaka, Japan (June 8th, 2025)– World Boxing Council World Bantamweight southpaw world champion Junto ‘Big Bang’ Nakatani, 31-0, 24 knockouts, Sagamihara, Japan, moved a step closer to his goal of fighting World Super Bantamweight champion Nagoya Inoye with a sixth round stoppage of Ryosuke Nishida, adding the International Boxing Federation World Bantamweight title to his ledger.   Nishida fell to 10-1 with two knockouts, Osaka, Japan, after the ESPN+ main event at Ariake Coliseum, Osaka, Japan, on June 8, 2025.

Nishida retired on his stool with his right eye swollen completely shut. Nakatani had targeted the eye with power shots all night, until Nishida was beaten into submission. Nakatani used left-hand leads mixed with upper cuts. Nishida utilized a disciplined body attack, leaving him vulnerable to Nakatani’s power head shots.

According to three-division world champion Nakatani, “I am so happy I was able to win two belts, and defeat a great fighter like Ryosuke Nishida. This was a true battle between champions (and how I wanted to win and did).”
