Southpaw Commonwealth British Empire and World Boxing Organization International Super Middleweight champion Lerrone ‘Sniper Boss’ Richards is the Real Combat Media Prospect of the Month for May 2019. Richards is the rising star of the 168-pound weight class. At 12-0, Richards is a superb technical fighter with nine decision wins, including impressive wins by 10 round and 12 round decision.
Richards most recent win, on April 27, 2019, a 12 round unanimous decision win over Tommy Langford at Wembley Arena in Richards hometown of London, saw Richards win by scores of 118-110 on two scorecards, meaning he won those two scorecards by 10 rounds in a British and WBO regional title bout over the favored fighter Langford and gave him an education on who the better fight is.
Richards had a 91-9 amateur record, and was a quarterfinalist in the African 2012 Olympic qualifiers. Promoted by Frank Warren, at age 26, Richards is a leading super middleweight prospect to win a world title. Richards’ rapid rise may propel him into a world title bout by the end of 2020. Richards is the rising star to watch in Great Britain in the year ahead, and is destined for a European and WBO European super middleweight title bout next. With the departure of Gilberto Ramirez from the super middleweight division, Richards is under legal contract to Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, and as the premiere super middleweight now in Warren’s 65 fighter stable, Richards has the best chance to get a 168 pound world title shot next if his rapid rise throuh the division continues on its current pace.
