THIS FRIDAY JEAN CARLOS “LOBO” TORRES VS. FRANKLIN MAMANI FOR THE WBO LATINO TITLE IN TRUJILLO ALTO, PUERTO RICO

TRUJILLO ALTO, PUERTO RICO– The first title chance for the unbeaten Jean Carlos “Lobo” Torres will come this Friday, November 16, in his town, Trujillo Alto, when he faces Bolivian Franklin Mamani for the WBO Latino belt at 140 pounds in a new edition of the series “A Puño Limpio”, at the Rubén Zayas Montañez Coliseum in a presentation of PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with Spartan Boxing, to be broadcast by Wapa Deportes.

The program, which will be the fourth of this series held in this scenario in 2018, will feature another five fights between young Puerto Rican prospects and an undefeated Dominican fighter.

“In another A Puño Limpio show we return with another title fight in Trujillo Alto. We had (Wilfredo) Bimbito Méndez in September for the NABO belt and now Lobo Torres will fight for the WBO Latino crown to continue with our purpose of present important fights in the Rubén Zayas Montañez Coliseum,” said promoter Iván Rivera, president of PRBBP. “Lobo Torres will face with a veteran fighter like Franklin Mamani, so we expect a great fight, just as we expect of the rest of the event.”

The main fight of the night will have Trujillo Alto native, Lobo Torres (13-0, 9 kos), disputing the WBO Latino belt at 140 pounds against South American Mamani (23-4-1, 13 kos) in a 10 rounds scheduled bout.

Torres, 28, will fight for the fifth time this year and for the third consecutive time in an “A Puño Limpio” event in Trujillo Alto. In his two previous fights, Torres knocked out Travis Castellón and Luis Joel González, respectively.

“They do not know how proud and happy I am to fight for this title.” Franklin, thank you for accepting the fight, I hope you come well prepared because I prepared well to win this title in Trujillo Alto. I am grateful to all the fans who support us every day and I am very focused on being the WBO Latino champion at 140. I promised this to my La Gloria neighborhood, that this title stays here,” Torres said.

Mamani, on the other hand, comes from a victory in five rounds by KO in February over Argentinean Juan Carlos Pedrozo.

“I am very excited to visit this beautiful country, Puerto Rico, which is the blood of champions, we have trained hard for this fight and I will give everything in this fight, God willing, we will be among the best in the world,” Mamani said.

Meanwhile, in four round bouts, Dominican Víctor Santillán (3-0, 1 kos) will face Puerto Rican Christian Vélez (1-0, 1 kos) at 122 pounds; Ángel Aponte (1-0, 1 kos) will fight against Luis Enrique Rivera (1-2, 1 kos) at 130 pounds; Jean Rivera (2-1) will face Fernando Semidey (0-5-1) at 152 pounds; the debutant Mario Suárez will fight against Ronald Quintana (0-1) in 160 pounds, and José Manuel Escroig will debut against Anthony Concepción (1-15) in 145 pounds.

The series “A Puño Limpio”, in its first part, took place between 2011 and 2012 with shows around Puerto Rico, and had in action fighters like the current world champion Emmanuel “Manny” Rodríguez (in his debut), former world champion Manuel Alejandro “Manny” Siaca, later world champion McJoe Arroyo, as well as future world challengers McWilliams Arroyo, Jonathan Oquendo, José “Chelo” González and David Quijano, and then prospect Jonathan “Bomba “González, among others.

After this show, “A Puño Limpio” returns on December 7.
