Mikey Garcia vs. Undefeated WBC Champ Dejan Zlacticanin is Set
Las Vegas, NV (October 22, 2016)– Former two division world champion Mikey Garcia (35-0, 29 KOs) will be challenging WBC lightweight champion Dejan Zlaticanin (22-0, 15 KOs) on the undercard of the Carl Frampton vs. Leo Santa Cruz rematch on January 28 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This will be Garcia’s second fight after a year and a half layoff where he defeated former WBC Champ Elio Rojas in July by 5th round KO with an impressive performance.
5’4” Zlaticani, 32, is a serious threat to defeat Garcia since he is new to the weight class since he will be the most powerful puncher Garcia has ever faced. . Zlaticanin has defeated Ricky Burns, Alex Bone, Ivan Redkach and Franklin Mamani.
Garcia, 29 has held world titles at Featherweight and Super Featherweight.
The winner of the Zlaticanin vs. Mikey Garcia fight could soon be facing WBC lightweight ‘Champion in Reess’ Jorge Linares. Garcia could also move up to 140 if he gets the victory.
