Premier Boxing Champions Presents Shafikov vs Herring ESPN Santander Arena Card

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Reading, PA (July 1st, 2016)– Premier Boxing Champions and King’s Promotions will present an exciting ten bout card of pro boxing at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania, televised on ESPN, on Saturday evening, July 2, 2016, featuring a ten round lightweight main event bout between southpaw lightweight contenders Denis Shafikov and Jamal Herring.

Southpaw Shafikov, 36-2-1 with 19 knockouts, Miass, Russia, coming off a 12 round decision loss to Rances Bathelemy in a vacant IBF World Lightweight title bout, will face rising southpaw prospect Jamal Herring, 15-0 with eight knockouts, Cincinnati, Ohio. Shafikov is favored to win the bout by close ten round decision. However, Herring still an unknown tested commodity, could surprise everyone. Herring’s resume just lacks the world class experience Shafikov has. The bout could be interesting if Herring can take his ‘A’ game and bring the level of fight up one notch. If that happens, Shafikov could be in for the fight of his life, with both careers essentially on the line in this important bout.

In the preliminary bout to the main event, junior middleweight Wilky Campfort, 21-2 with 12 knockouts, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Patryk Szymanski, 15-0 with nine knockouts, Manin, Poland, will fight to a majority ten round decision which could go either wat. Campfort, coming off a fourth round stoppage to Jermall Charlo in Dallas last November for the IBF World Super Welterweight title, has beaten Ronald Montez, Richard Gutierrez, Decarlo Perez and Devon Moncrieffe, some heavy hitters. Szymanski has also beaten Gutierrez, but still does not have the same resume and experience as Campfort. While still a relative unknown, Szymanski could surprise Campfort he has not fully recovered from the Charlo loss. That aside, the bout promises to be one of the best this year at 154 pounds.

Reading southpaw super featherweight contender Frank De Alba, 18-2-2 with even knockouts, is favored to win by eight round decision over Jonathan ‘’Popeye’ Perez, 35-24 with 29 knockouts, Barranquilla, Columbia.

Former International Boxing Federation World Welterweight champion Kermit Cintron, 36-5-2 with 28 knockouts, Reading, Pennsylvania, is favored to win by eight round decision over hot and cold Carlos Garcia, 10-15-1 with eight knockouts, Aguada, Puerto Rico. Garcia upset 1-1-1 Patrick Day by first round stoppage at Aviator Arena in Brooklyn, New York last November, and he could be dangerous if Cintron does not out box him carefully.

7-1 Reading super welterweight southpaw Erik Spring is favored to win by six round decision over 3-4-2 journeyman James Robinson of York, Pennsylvania. 9-0 Philadelphia featherweight prospect Stephen Fulton is favored to win by third round knockout over Cristian Renteria of Tijuana, Mexico, who 5-2 record with seven decisions was fought against six winless fighters.

Other Predictions

Miguel Ramirez (Pro Debut) Win 4 Antonio Allen, Super Welterweights

Cristian Carto (Pro Debut) Win 4 Rahkeam Parker, Flyweights

Chordale Booker Win 4 Kevin Womack Jr., Super Welterweights

Womack is coming in with a six bout losing streak. Previously he had a seven bout streak earlier in his pro career when he was also unable to win. However, Womack does have more professional experience than Booker, a 2015 U.S. Olympic Trials Bronze Medalist.

Kashon Hutchinson (Pro Debut) TKO 3 Robert Ramos, Super Lightweights
