BOXING LEGEND ROY JONES RETIRES AT AGE 47
Moscow, Russia (February 10, 2016)– Roy Jones, 47, who recently gained Russian citizenship, has decided to finally call it a day on his professional boxing career according to reports coming out of Russia.
This might perhaps come as welcomed news for his loyal fans who have long supported Roy and no longer wanted to see him in danger of been knocked out again.
Roy Jones’ last fight in the ring came at the hands of devastating knockout defeat from Wales’ Enzo Maccarinelli in Moscow last December, with his full fight record during his professional career now reading: (62-9-45KO).
Jones will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the sport’s great exponents during his prime, a dynamite operator with concussive power in either hand, with almost cat like reflexes at his peak.
It is understood according to reports from News-4-u that he will now be concentrating his efforts on his music career, while speculation also exists that he could also launch a series of boxing tournaments in Russia.
Roy Jones will retire as being only one of two men in the history of professional boxing to capture a recognized world title at both the middleweight and heavyweight limits, a feat that will take some beating.
Editor’s Update: After Russian media made the report of the Roy Jones retirement, Jones has decided to continue his boxing career. He wants one more fight in front of his Pensacola, Florida hometown fans.
