Las Vegas, NV (September 10th, 2015)– The latest comeback attempt of the southpaw former World Super Lightweight and World Welterweight champion Zab ‘Super’ Judah on September 10, 2015, has been postponed. His scheduled ten round opponent, 18-11-1 Hevinson Herrera of Barranquilla, Columbia, has pulled out.
Judah, 42-9 with 29 knockouts, Las Vegas, Nevada, found out yesterday afternoon his opponent had pulled out of their scheduled main event bout at The Space at Westbury, Long Island, New York. At 4:30 P.M. yesterday, a call went out to matchmakers after the official weigh-in of the New York State Athletic Commission. There simply was not enough time to find a new world class opponent with a winning record and up-to-date medical exams in 24 hours who could be approved and cleared by the commission.
Judah has been out of the ring since December 2013 when he lost a 12 round decision to Paulie Malignaggi at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Judah, who will turn 38 years old in October 2013, last won a bout in March 2012 when he stopped Vernon Paris in the ninth round at Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn. Judah also lost a 12 round decision to Danny Garcia in 2013.
