Eddie Chambers and Travis Kauffman Return! Atlantic City King’s Promotions Preview

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Atlantic City, NJ (September 15th, 2015)– Former top ranked heavyweight ‘Fast’ Eddie Chambers, who never won a world title,

Will fight in the preliminary bout to the main event on an eight bout card promoted by Marshall Kauffman’s King’s Promotions at the Claridge Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Friday, September 18, 2015. Chambers, 41-3 with 22 knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will fight journeyman spoiler Galen ‘Bad Boy’ Brown, 43-31-1 with 25 knockouts, Saint Joseph, Missouri. Brown has not made it to the final bell against his last seven opponents with winning records.  Chambers should win by stoppage in five rounds or less of the scheduled eight rounder.

World ranked heavyweight Travis ‘My Time’ Kauffman, 29-1, 21 knockouts, Reading, Pennsylvania, looks for his twelfth straight win in the main event against trial horse Epifanio ‘Diamante’ Mendoza, 41-21-1 with 19 knockouts, Baranquilla, Columbia. Mendoza is clearly dangerous, and travels frequently to pick up wins in Columbia when he cannot find them in the states. Mendoza holds knockout wins over Carlos Negron and Rubin Williams, opponents who had a combined record of 32-0. Kauffman is favored by late round stoppage or eight round decision. Mendoza, who is unlikely to get any decision on American soil, will probably go for broke at some point against Kauffman, who should finish him down the stretch in a fast paced bout. Kaufman, coming off a knockout over Richard Carmack, might have to chase the fast moving Mendoza for a few rounds.

In other bouts: 15-0 Puerto Rican cruiserweight prospect Keith Tapia is favored by early round knockout over Anthony Caputo Smith, whose career has fallen short in his step up fights; 8-0 Ukrainian southpaw super welterweight Ivan Golub is favored by knockout over Pavel Miranda; Washington D.C. 8-1-1 heavyweight Danny Kelly is favored by knockout over Jimmy Suarez; 2008 Beijing Olympian Carlos Gongora of Ecuador is favored by six round decision over Michael Gbenga.  3-0 Kazakh super middleweight Dauren Yeleussinov is favored by knockout over Justin Williams; Philadelphia super bantamweight and sometimes ring announcer Alex Barbosa is favored by four round decision over Jose Garcia; debuting featherweight Pavel Ishchenko of Brooklyn, a member of the 2012 Ukrianian Olympic team in London, and a former European Amateur champion, is favored by four round decision over Nicholas Rodriguez.
