Cruiserweight Danny Green Machine Green Decisions Bolonti After Three Year Layoff
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Melbourne, Australia (August 19, 2015)– Danny ‘Green Machine’ Green, age 42, the former International Boxing Organization World Cruiserweight champion from Perth, Australia, won a ten round decision at Hisense Arena on August 19, 2015, in Melbourne, Australia, after a three year layoff.
Green, 34-5, 28 knockouts, won a ten round decision over last minute opponent Roberto Bolonti, 36-4, 25 knockouts, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Bolonti had knocked out opponent William Ocando in Buenos Aires on July 25, and took the bout on short notice due to Tomas Kovacs, the scheduled opponent, pulling out due to injury.
Green still possesses considerable technical skill, won every round against Bolonti, but could not hurt him or put him away, marking a loss of power in his boxing skills, which was still evident in July 2012 when Green stopped Danny Santiago.
Result: Danny Green Win 10 Roberto Bolonti, Cruiserweights
Scoring: 100-90, 100-90, 100-90 for Green. Referee: Brad Vocale.
