CANELO VS. COTTO IS OFFICIAL
Las Vegas, NV (August 13th, 2015)– Saul Canelo Alvarez, 25, (45-5, 1, 32 KOs ) will be fighting Miguel Cotto, 34, (40-4, 33 KOs) Nov 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on HBO PPV at 155lbs. This historic fight brings back the fan rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico. This fight is a potential possible fight of the year candidate and the WBC Middleweight title will be on the line.
Miguel Cotto is coming off an impressive TKO win at the Barclays Center this June over former middleweight champ Daniel Geale at a catch weight of 157. Since joining his new trainer Freddie Roach, Cotto has finished all 3 opponents by stoppage, including the former WBC champ Sergio Martinez.
Saul Canelo Alvarez is coming an impressive win where he destroyed James Kirkland this May at the Minute Maid Park in Houston Texas. The knockout over Kirkland is a candidate for knockout of the year. Canelo’s only loss was a decision loss to Floyd Mayweather in 2013.
