Golden Boy Tuesday Night Fights Results

Philadelphia PA (July 1st, 2015)– Undefeated light heavyweights Headlined the night as Vyacheslav Shabranskyy earned third round TKO over Paul Parker. The result may sound one sided but it was Shabranskyy who tasted the canvas twice in the first round. Parker caught “Slava” coming in with a over hand right, that left him grabbing on to Parker before eventually going down. Then again with the same punch, and even after making the looked to be ready to go with the next landed punch. Parker, however was unable to get him out with just a little but under 30 seconds left in the round despite throwing a number of punches. The second round was critical for both fighters. Sharabranskyy looked to get him unstable legs and clear mind back, and Parker to finish his job from the first but looked tired from a number of his missed punches. Parker tried to land his over hand right that caused the trouble but already lost its snap and came off too slow to do so. It seemed to all that “Slava” needed was a round to get his wits back back, because by the middle of the third round he began to land power punches between Parker’s lackluster punches. Then at the end of the third “Slava” landed a left hook that send Parker into the ropes, turning him, and then making Parker submit by turning his back where the ref had no choice but to stop it.
The other featured light heavyweights were Philly’s own D’Mitrius Ballard who remained undefeated after taking on an unlucky Josue Obando via Unanimous decision. Ballard pressed the actions at times through the fight but had many moments of inactivity that Obando seized on throughout the fight. Every punch that Obando threw were hard and if they weren’t, they were in bunches to the head, but mainly the body. Consistently Ballard waited on Obando to stop punching to start his, instead of landing in-between Obando’s wild, looping punches. Obando is awkward and lanky, so getting hit with any clean blow looked more menacing than it was. For me, Harold Letterman, and many others at ringside saw this fight in favor for Obando.Even doing a service for Ballard if scored a draw, but the judges saw it differently.
Light weight Lamont Roach Jr and Super light weight Damon Allen ketp their undefeated records in tact;Lamont earning a convincing unanimous decision, and Allen making his opponent, Luis Rodriguez quit on his stool at the end of the 4th. Both are young talents in the mid-atlantic area to look out for in the future, specifically Damon Allen. He is a very skilled and speedy fighter who can box when he needs, but prefers to mix it up when the openings are there. For me he was the best fighter of the night.
Also the unaired fights saw Victor Vasquez defeated Osnel Charles via third round TKO, and Kevin Rivers defeating Luis Lizarraga via fourth round TKO.
