Undefeated British middleweight, Anthony Ogogo(7-0, 4 KOs) of Lowestoft, England is set to make his hotly anticipated return to the ring againstRuslan Schelev (11-3, 6 KOs) of Myrhorod,Ukraine on Saturday, July 18 at theGerry Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany as the undercard for the WBO World Championship fight Abraham vs. Stieglitz. The weigh-in took place today with Anthony Ogogo coming in at 73.2 kg/161.3 lbs. and Ruslan Schelev weighed in at 73.9 kg/162.9 lbs.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Boxing Team presents the inaugural Brawl At City Hall 2015, on Saturday, July 18, a fun and exciting charity boxing event to benefit the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation. In the past, charity boxing events presented by the LAPD Boxing club in association with other law enforcement clubs throughout California have been a tremendous success with outstanding officers giving their best performance.
Shutting down Los Angeles City Hall in the 200 block of North Spring Street, the live charity boxing event will feature live music, a meet and greet with Golden Boy Promotions fighters, a beer garden hosted by the LA Brewing Company, trendy LA catering trucks, family friendly activities, and more.
The Memorial Foundation has played a vital role in assisting the families of LAPD officers who have experienced catastrophic circumstances resulting from injury or death. Since its inception in 1972, the Foundation has granted more than $14.5 million for medical, funeral and educational expenses.

Tickets for the event are priced at $25 and will be available at the gate, and all proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation. Gates open at 2:00 p.m. and the first bout begins at 4:00 p.m.

Undefeated featherweight standout Abraham “Chamaco” Lopez (18-0-1, 13 KOs) has replaced previously announced main event fighter Julian “El Camaron” Ramirez as the main event on the August 6 edition of LA FIGHT CLUB on FOX Deportes.  

 

Ramirez, had to withdraw from the event due to illness. This marks Lopez’ first headlining event and his first appearance on the fan-favorite series LA FIGHT CLUB,when he defends his undefeated record in a 10-round featherweight bout against Jorge “King” Diaz (18-3-1) of New Brunswick, New Jersey. The August 6 installment of the popular series will also feature the professional debuts of three recently signed Golden Boy Promotions fighters: Hector Tanajara,  Jonathan Navarro, and Joshua Franco.

 

In the co-main event, East Los Angeles native, Roy “Pitbull” Tapia (10-0-2, 5 KOs) will return to LA FIGHT CLUB in a televised eight-round super bantamweight fight againstJuan “Perla Negra” Hernandez (18-5-1, 9 KOs)of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. San Antonio, Texas’, Hector “El Finito” Tanajara will participate in a four-round super featherweight televised bout and  Jonathan Navarro, of East Los Angeles is scheduled for a four-round lightweight bout opening up the FOX Deportes telecast. In the non-televised portion of the night, Francisco Ochoa (1-0) of Los Angeles will participate in a four-round super featherweight brawl and Pablo Rubio (1-0, 1 KO) of East Los Angeles will face new fighter Martin Regalado of Wilmington, Calif. in a four-round bantamweight bout. Opening up the night in a four-round super flyweight bout, Joshua Franco, also from San Antonio, Texas, will take on Julio Rodriguez (0-1) of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

 

The FOX Deportes broadcast will air live, Thursday, August 6 at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT.

Johan “El Terrible” Perez (20-2-1, 13 KOs) of Caracas, Venezuela will defend his current
NABA Welterweight Title against undefeated Russian boxer Dmitry “The Mechanic” Mikhaylenko (19-0, 8 KOs) in an exciting 12-round title bout at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. onSaturday, August 8 televised on HBO Latino Boxing.

Opening the telecast, Philadelphian southpaw Tevin Farmer (19-4-1, 4 KOs) will go up against Juan “El Mozo” Rodriguez (25-5, 22 KOs) of Puebla, Mexico a televised 10-round super featherweight bout.

Also featured in non-televised bouts will be undefeated fan favorites Joet Gonzalez (11-0, 4 KOs) of Los Angeles and Neeco Macias (8-0, 4 KOs) of Palm Desert, Calif. competing in respective eight-round featherweight and six-round junior middleweight bouts, and Quilisito Madera (1-0) of Las Vegas will be featured in a four-round middleweight bout. Two-time Brazilian Olympic team member Everton Lopes (3-0, 1 KO) will be featured in a six-round lightweight bout, and Los Angeles’ own Lionel Davis (10-0) will open the night in a six-round heavyweight bout. Opponents have yet to be announced.

MAURICIO HERRERA EMERGES VICTORIOUS AGAINST HANK LUNDY
  

The Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena was electrified July 11 as Golden Boy Promotions in association with CES Boxing presented an exciting evening of boxing in from of a crowd of 4,672 fight fans.

The main event of the evening was an West Coast vs. East Coast battle between Southern California’sMauricio “El Maestro” Herrera (22-5, 7 KOs) and title contender “Hammerin” Hank Lundy (25-5-1, 12 KOs) of Philadelphia for the vacant NABF Super Lightweight Championship. In the co-main event of the night, Michael “The Artist” Perez (23-1-2, 11 KOs) faced Luis Sanchez (17-4-1 5 KOs) of in a scheduled 10-round vacant NABO lightweight title fight in which Perez earned the win by knockout.

In the first televised bout of the night, Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz Jr. (17-0, 10 KOs) faced Rene Alvarado (22-5, 15 KOs) in scheduled a 10-round featherweight bout.  A fatigued Diaz fought hard to stay in the fight in round ten as Alvarado knocked him to the ground but undeterred, Diaz bounced back to end strong and win the bout in a unanimous decision.

The crowd went wild as Nick Arce  (4-0, 4 KOs) took to the ring against Ricardo Alvarado (7-7, 6 KOs) in a scheduled four-round super featherweight fight. Arce came out strong taking Alvarado to the ropes with a series of unanswered blows leading the referee to call an early stoppage that earned Arce a technical knockout just 1 minute and 35 seconds into the round, leaving Arce’s undefeated record intact. Fan favoriteJason Quigley (7-0, 6 KOs) took on Tom Howard (8-4, 4 KOs) in a scheduled six-round super middleweight fight that Quigley dominated to win with a knockout in the second round. Ivan Delgado (6-0-1, 2 KOs) faced Angel Albelo (4-8-3, 1 KOs) in a scheduled six-round lightweight fight in which Delgado finished out the bout strong that ultimately won the match for him with a unanimous decision. Opening up the night, Zachary Ochoa (12-0, 5 KOs) went up against David Rodela (17-11, 7KO) in an eight-round welterweight fight in which Ochoa took home the win via a unanimous decision.
