Jamaica Queens, New York (June 14, 2015)– Former top rated lightweight and super lightweight contender Lennox Blackmoore of Guyana, now a noted boxing trainer in New York City, celebrated Guyanese bantamweight Elton Dharry’s sixteenth consecutive win with fans and friends in the ring after the main event of a six bout Pro-Am card at Amazura Concert hall in Jamaica Queens, New York, on Friday evening, June 12, 2015. The card was promoted by Elton Dharry Promotions and Pretty Girl Promotions.
Dharry, now 19-5-1 with 12 knockouts, chased short challenger Miguel Robles, 12-5-2 with five knockouts, San Juan, Puerto Rico, for two rounds. Rob les got on his bicycle and ran circles around the ring, throwing a meaningless flicking jab which punched only air. In round three, Dharry cut off the ring, and land a power shot knockout blow to the head which put Robles flat on his back in his own corner, where he was counted out in his own corner by referee Eddie Claudio.
Blackmoore had a professional record of 25-5 with 14 knockouts between 1974 and 1986, winning the Guyanese and British Commonwealth titles. In 1981, Blackmoore fought the late Aaron Pryor for the World Boxing Association Super Lightweight title, and fought former world champion Antonio ‘Kid Pambele’ Cervantes.
