WSOF-6-poster

Coral Gables, FL (October 24th, 2013)–This Saturday, Oct. 26, the World Series of Fighting 6 is to take place at the Bank United Center right on the University of Miami Campus in the Coral Gables, Miami. A great fight location to grab some local “tapas” before the possible tapouts—or more, as is expected with the exceptional main card and preliminary fights in this MMA promotional organization that formed late last year. If you can’t enjoy it as a local, catch the main card on NBC Sports Network.

Twenty two fighters will step into the decagon (WSOF cages are 10-sided, not eight, hence a decagon) in four main card and seven preliminary fights.

The only title bout, for the inaugural welterweight title, features Josh Burkman (170lbs) vs Steve Carl. Burkman, the people’s warrior, won eight of his last night fights, defeating Jon Fitch (who is still fighting on the main card this evening) early in WSOF 3 match with fervor completing a mean guillotine. Carl comes to the fight with the rear naked choke as his weapon of choice submitting his last six challengers (four of them with the choke).

Two of the main card fights feature local fighters. Jon Fitch (170lbs) vs. Marcelo Alfaya (170lbs) fighting out of Broward County and Carson Beebe (135lbs) vs. Marlon Moraes (135lbs) fighting out of Palm Beach.

Justin Gaethje (155lbs) may just knock up another TKO against Dan Lauzon (155lbs), but that’s not for sure as Lauzon is riding the wave of five straight wins.

The prelims are sure not to disappoint.

Featherweight Fabio Mello may turn around the undefeated record of Nick Lobosco; the same may be true for Bantamweight Chad Robichaux vs. Andrew Yates.

Two hometown fighters are among the prelim bouts that are sure to stir up that South Florida crowd. Hometown Bantam weight Pablo Alfonso challenges Miguel Torres; and hometown Alexis Vila (125lbs) fights Josh Rettinghouse (140lbs).

The brawls will be in all shapes and sizes with Feather weights Jade Porter vs Alexandre Pimental, Lightweights Luiz Firmino vs Jacob Volkmann, and Light Heavy weights Hans Stringer vs Francisco France.
