Derry Matthews v Anthony Crolla II – Here We Go Again!

Hull, UK (January 2nd 2013) – The Echo Arena, Liverpool is set to host the rematch to Real Combat Media’s very own Fight of the year. Derry Matthews will challenge Anthony Crolla for the vacant commonwealth lightweight title, supporting a bill topped by Liverpool favourite Tony Bellew.
This rematch needs no real introduction. The first fight between Matthews and Crolla was considered the greatest domestic clash in 2012, with back and forth action eventually leading to a 6th round TKO victory for Derry Matthews. Anthony Crolla will get his chance to expunge that memory on the night of March 30th. However, with another KO loss certainly possible, the stakes are high for the Manchester fighter. Another defeat to Derry Matthews could seriously deter his ambitions to progress to European and World Level. For both fighters, the prize is bound to be at the forefront of their mind. A commonwealth strap would create great opportunities for both fighters.
The March 30th bill features Light Heavyweight Tony Bellew. The Merseyside fighter will be looking to continue his progression towards a World Title fight with a dominant performance. The Bomber has worked up an impressive run of victories since his razor thin decision loss to Nathan Cleverly. Bellew will be looking carry that form into 2013 with an emphatic KO victory. The bill will also feature English Supermiddleweight champion Rocky Fielding and unbeaten lightweight prospect Scotty Cardle.
This is a night of boxing that should be placed in the calendar of any boxing fan. The full line up will be announced on Wednesday 9th January. Stay tuned into Real Combat Media UK, to be the first to hear about the completed March bill.
