Current WBC lightweight Champion Tony DeMarco, from Sinaloa Mexico, predicted a difficult battle against Daniel Estrada, from Mexico City, to defend his title on July 28 in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico.
DeMarco offered yesterday, via phone conference at the headquarters of the World Boxing Council in Mexico City, where he gave his points of view of his next battle against the fifth ranked, Daniel “Tremendo” Estrada, who accompanied Jose Sulaiman at the weekly meeting with the Mexican media.
“Estrada is a tough opponent, with experience, strength and hunger to win, so it will be an explosive fight that fans will enjoy”, Said Tony.
DeMarco, who became the WBC lightweight champion after defeating Jorge Linares, from Venezuela, by TKO in the eleventh round, last October 15, 2011 at the Staples Center of Los Angeles California, and then defended his belt against Miguel “Miky” Roman, by knockout in the fifth round in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico last March said: “Now I have to fight another Mexican, and it will be a real war that will draw sparks from the ring”.
The World Champion from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, who now lives in Tijuana, Baja California, reported that he is training very hard in the gym with the experienced manager Romulo Quirarte.
Meanwhile Estrada said: “the fight will not reach the scheduled 12 rounds, there will be a winner on the fast track and that one will be me”.
WBC president, Jose Sulaiman said: both are great fighters and the event corresponds to the expectations because Daniel Estrada and Tony de Marco are the best Mexican lightweight fighters today.
