London, UK (February 16th, 2014)– Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora both defeated their respective American opposition on Saturday night (2/15/14) at the Copper Box Arena, UK. Tyson Fury (6’9″) defeated Joey Abell (6’4″), via TKO (4th round) while Dereck Chisora (6’1″) defeated Kevin Johnson (6’3″) by decision. Fury advanced to a (29-8 28 KOs) record, while Chisora advanced to a (20-4, 13 KOs) record. These fights have set up a potential summer rematch between these two British heavyweights. The previous fight between the two was a decision win for Fury (November 2011). Of note was that Tyson Fury weighed in at career high 274 lbs, which was almost 20lbs higher than his April 2013 matchup against Steve Cunningham.
Fury discussed that a win for him after the Chisora fight would require yet another tune-up before attempting to fight for a title. Chisora believes that a win for him would set up a possible fight with Alexander Povetkin (former heavyweight Titleist and 2004 Olympic gold medal winner).
