Las Vegas, NV (March 9th, 2026)– Jai Opetaia defeated Brandon Glanton by a unanimous shutout decision at Zuffa Boxing 4 on March 8, 2026, to become the inaugural Zuffa Boxing World Cruiserweight Champion.
The eight-fight card took place at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas and featured the first-ever title fight for Dana White’s new promotion.
The bout was a one-sided “masterclass” by the Australian southpaw, who dominated nearly every round with superior footwork and hand speed. While Glanton showed remarkable durability, he was unable to counter Opetaia’s consistent volume and sharp uppercuts. All three judges scored the fight 119–106 in favor of Opetaia.
The match was heavily officiated; Glanton had two points deducted (rounds 6 and 8) for holding and low blows, while Opetaia had one point deducted in round 11 for excessive holding.
Leading up to the fight, the IBF withdrew its sanctioning because it did not recognize the new Zuffa Boxing belt. Consequently, Opetaia was stripped of his IBF cruiserweight title for participating in an unsanctioned contest. Despite this, Opetaia stated after the fight that he remains focused on reclaiming the belt and becoming the undisputed champion.
