Lagos, Nigeria (December 22, 2025)– Lawrence Okolie, 33, (22-1, 16 Kos) won his last fight by technical knockout (TKO) against Ebenezer Tetteh, 37, (23-3, 20 Kos) on December 21, 2025, at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria. Tetteh retired on his stool at the end of the second round.

The fight was a dominant performance by Okolie, who was fighting in Africa for the first time. Early in round 1, Okolie landed a big right hand early on, which visibly wobbled Tetteh. He continued to land clean shots and control the round, showing little movement from Tetteh.

In round 2, Okolie continued his dominance, scoring the fight’s only knockdown with a two-punch combination that left Tetteh on his knees. Tetteh was again hurt badly, and looked unwilling to continue by the end of the round.

Before round 3, Tetteh’s corner stopped the fight before the start of the third round, resulting in a TKO victory for Okolie.

With this win, Okolie improved his professional record to 23 wins and 1 loss (17 KOs). In the post-fight interview, Okolie called out Moses Itauma, as the WBC had ordered them to face each other in a final eliminator for the world title. Okolie is now ranked #2 at heavyweight by the WBC.
