FLOYD MAYWEATHER WILL REMATCH JOHN GOTTI III AFTER THE LAST FIGHT ENDED IN A BRAWL – VIDEO

Las Vegas, NV (June 16th, 2024)– Floyd cannot stay away, so it seems, as retirement boredom is not on the radar, at least for the moment. Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr., age 47, has decided to return to the ring in an exhibition yet another time, in a rematch against John Gotti III in Mexico City, Mexico, on August 24, 2024.

In June 2023 in their first meeting at FLA Live Arena, referee Kenny Bayless disqualified Gotti III, grandson of the late New York City mobster and Gambino crime family boss known ‘Dapper Don’, for repeatedly grabbing Mayweather. Gotti would not let the bout go, prompting an inside the ring all-out war melee brawl between both corners reminiscent of Riddick Bowe versus Andrew Golota, only this time the war spilled into the ring entrance and corridor area underneath.

Gotti III, the 5-1 MMA pro fighter and 2-0 pro boxer, was slapped with a six-month suspension from the DBPR Florida Athletic Commission after the boxing chaos inside and outside of the ring. “The bum (Floyd Mayweather Jr.) never put me down or stopped me. It was a DQ for no reason,” Gotti III wrote on social media immediately following the Florida incident.

The controversial stoppage by referee Bayless after a tug of war hold between the two combatants appeared premature, and the bad blood feud between Floyd and Gotti III could make for an interesting pay-per-view, given Gotti appeared in top condition and his first battle with Floyd was not a social call. The second confrontation will undoubtedly be nastier.
