MANNY PACQUIAO ANNOUNCES HE HAS AGREED TO A REMATCH WITH FLOYD MAYWEATHER AT RIZIN
Tokyo, Japan (December 31st, 2023)– Manny Pacquiao has revealed at the Rizin MMA Event earlier today in the video below, that he will rematch Floyd Mayweather, 46, in a boxing exhibition in 2024. No official date or venue announced at this time.
After suffering a defeat against Yordenis Ugas in 2021, Pacquiao announced his retirement from boxing to focus on his ambition to run for president in his native Philippines. In 2019, Manny Pacquiao made boxing history by becoming the oldest Welterweight champion at the age of 40 by defeating Keith Thurman by unanimous decision.
However, despite retiring, Pacquiao has remained active inside the ring, winning a decision victory over South Korean martial artist DK Yoo in December 2022.
The 45-year-old also has another upcoming exhibition bout in the works that will see him face off against the Muay Thai great Buakaw Banchamek under boxing rules, scheduled for April 20.
Floyd Mayweather also has remained active with several exhibitions after retiring after he defeated Conor McGregor in 2017.
