Janibek Scores Three Knockdown Devastation of Butler in Second, Wins WBO Middleweight Crown
Stockton, CA (May 14th, 2023)– There is a new Kazakhstan middleweight world champion in town who is ten years younger than him, a southpaw, and who is definitely rockin’ and rollin’ in the world class middleweight house. Notice has been served on the middleweight division.
Top Rank fighter Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, 14-0 with nine knockouts, Oxnard, California by way of Kazakhstan, trained by Bubby McGirt, needed only 265 seconds to send Steven Butler, now 32-4-1 with 26 knockouts, down on his back and out, in the preliminary bout to the main event of a seven bout card at Stockton Arena, in Stockton, California, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, to win the vacant World Boxing Organisation World Middleweight title.
Alimkhanuly started the slaughter with a series of pinpoint accurate power left uppercuts and hooks, five total to the chin, to send a stunned Butler to the canvas more than a minute into the second round, who took the count on one knee. A left right left combination of power shots by Alimkhanuly to the head of Butler, sent Butler to the canvas on his side, who pounded the canvas with his fist and got right back up. A left uppercut, followed by two left hooks by Alimkhanuly, sent a staggered and dazed Butler to the canvas on his back, forcing referee Jack Reiss to stop the devastation at 2:35 of round two.
