DEONTAY WILDER ARRESTED FOR FELONY GUN POSSESSION

Los Angeles, CA (May 2nd, 2023)– Former World Boxing Council and lineal World heavyweight champion Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder has been arrested in Los Angeles and charged with felony possession of a concealed weapon, a 9 MM handgun, after getting pulled over driving his Rolls-Royce with illegally tinted windows at 1:15 A.M. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, 2023.

Police said Wilder, 37, was pulled over during a routine traffic stop, and was cooperative and friendly throughout the ordeal. The Rolls-Royce’s windows were illegally tinted and his license plate was obstructed. The car’s odor smelled of burnt marijuana, and police also found weed in the vehicle, but did not charge Wilder on pot possession as yet.

Wilder, 43-2-1 with 42 knockouts, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was jailed, and released on bond more than five hours later, at 6:34 A.M. Wilder, still looking for a fight with Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk, Andy Ruiz Jr., last appeared in the ring on October 15, 2022, recording a first round knockout over Robert Helenius. Former WBA-WBO-IBF and IBO World Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua confirmed on April 29, 2023, he plans to fight Wilder in his next bout in December 2023.
