Bad Blood! Michael ‘Pretty Boy’ Zerafa vs. Isaac Hardman IBF Eliminator Melbourne Card Preview
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Every once and awhile two fighters get to fight each other, who really do not like each other in real life. Such be the case, like the Neil Sedaka classic song, of “Bad Blood” between middleweights Michael “Pretty Boy” Zerafa and Isaac Hardman, who will meet each other in the main event, a 12 round international Boxing Federation eliminator on a seven bout card at Melbourne Convention Centre, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
Zerafa, 29-4 with 18 knockouts, Melbourne, Australia, the WBA Oceania middleweight regional champion, and Hardman, 12-0 with 10 knockouts, Brisbane, Australia, the Australian and IBF Australian middleweight champion, will fight for the overall middleweight bragging rights of Australia. Neither Zerafa nor Hardman appear to be the next Carlos Monzon, Sugar Ray Robinson, or Marvelous Marvin Hagler. However, Zerafa is still predicted to win by a close but clear 10 round decision by virtue of his superior experience and ring generalship. This bout seems like a close matchup on paper, though.
In the preliminary to the main event, also an IBF bout, the IBF Female World Super Bantamweight vacant title will go out in a scheduled 10 rounder, two minutes rounds, between 13-1 Cherneka Johnson of Melbourne and 12-2-1 Melissa Esquivel on Los Mochis, Mexico. 3-0 Melbourne middleweight Benjamin Bommber will fight a scheduled eight rounder. 1-0 Carly Salmon of Melbourne age 39, will fight for the vacant Female Australian NBF Super Featherweight title against 5-2 Krystina Jacobs of Hobart, Australia, in a scheduled six. Featured on the undercard will be super welterweight Kim-Alina Ross will debut, 4-0 light heavyweight prospect “Golden” Jack Gipp, and 1-0 super welterweight Campbell Somerville of Parkdale. Versus debuting Larence Glover of Marrickville in the opening four round bout.
