Kyiv (March 21, 2022)– Former World Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, speaking out in a new interview from Kyiv, Ukraine, where he remains on the front lines of battle with his brother Kyiv Mayor and former World Heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, spoke out on the procrastination of world powers to come to Ukraine’s assistance militarily as innocent people continue to perish form Russian Federation attacks.

Wladimir stated in an interview with India Today that “How long will the world watch and not stop Russia? It has been 24 days (since Ukraine has been under military attack). We’ve been fighting back, but the world needs to actively stop the war and get them [the Russian forces] to get the heck out of our land (our country, Ukraine). It is dangerous for the whole world (the challenge to the right of democracy of all free countries). Other nations (of the world) are in danger (if the Russian Federation attack is not stopped). This senseless war is just the ambition of one madman in Moscow.”

When asked about the rejection of foreign powers to effect a no-fly zone over Ukraine, in regards to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s request for a no-fly zone over Ukrainian territory, Wladimir Klitschko stated “We will take care of ourselves, but we need military aid and equipment to defend ourselves (our country). Our allies need to sanction Russia (in every possible way) because every cent they get is being used to buy more weapons (to use against Ukraine) to kill our people. We will create our own no-fly zone (if necessary) and protect our skies (from the attacker). We have enough manpower (to counter and fight back).”

Ukraine and Russia are currently conducting ongoing peace talks. The head of the Russian delegation in talks with Ukrainian officials said the parties have come closer to an agreement. 3.2 million refugees have fled Ukraine for foreign countries, while 6.5 million people are displaced within Ukraine. The port city of Mariupol is under siege and has refused to surrender, despite being surrounded. Kyiv remains under attack from the air.
