Lockdown has made many of us put our fitness plans for the year on hold. However, this does not mean that we don’t have to give up training entirely. There are some things that you can do to help improve your fitness during lockdown.
Go for Walks
First, and most obvious, make sure that you are getting outside for a walk in the fresh air while you can. More and more of us are now working from home. We miss our commutes and a chance to be outside, and many of us are not moving as much as we normally would. Several walks every now and then will help to blow away your cobwebs and could help keep your fitness up – whether you are just going around your local park or tackling more of a challenge.
Consider Fitness Courses
You can always head online if you are looking to improve your fitness and find a fitness course to suit you. There is so much amazing content out there that has been made by industry experts, and you can tailor it to your needs and tastes perfectly. Some might prefer a dance-based cardio, others might want to try yoga or Pilates, and some might just want a good old-fashioned strength workout. If you can think of it, it is waiting for you online! Use Household Objects
If you are used to lifting weights in the gym, you might be able to improvise with simple household goods. Though they might not be quite what you are used to, you should be able to make some approximate changes that will still give you an effective workout. For example, a pair of cans work as an excellent replacement to dumbbells. Likewise, you can use a rucksack full of books for a variety of exercises, from squats to kettlebell swings. These are all simple changes, but they could add some serious edge to your workout.
