Detroit, MI (August 10th, 2020)– Dmitriy Salita and Salita Promotions will present a seven-bout professional boxing card of young rising prospects at the New Kronk Gym in Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday, August 20, 2020. No boxing fans will be in attendance due to the ongoing COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus pandemic. All fighters, personnel, and officials at ringside will be tested. All protocols of social isolation and masks will be followed for the sake of safety for all.

Robert Brizel: “What is the purpose of hosting a pro boxing card during the pandemic?”

Dmitriy Salita: “The most important thing is to keep all of the fighters busy. We’re working close with the Michigan (Sports) Commission to make sure only the people who need to be there are there. The boxing card will be streamed on UFC Fight pass.”

Robert Brizel: “How’s your star female fighter, WBC and WBO Super Welterweight champion Clarissa Shields?”

Dmitriy Salita: “She’s preparing for a unification bout again International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight champion Marie Decaire at 154 pounds. The fight was supposed to happen on May 9, 2020, on Showtime. We’re working on rescheduling it. Due to the (Coronavirus) pandemic, everything got canceled and postponed. We’re just waiting for a new date for that fight.”

Robert Brizel: “Tell me about the seven-bout card next week in Detroit.”

Dmitriy Salita: “10-0 Russian super middle prospect Vladimir Shishkin, trailed by Javan “SugarHill” Steward, will appear in the main event in a 10 rounder against 21-13-1 southpaw fighter Oscar ‘El Monstruo’ Riojas of Monterrey, Mexico. 8-0 Russian middleweight prospect Timur Kerefov will face 10-4-1 Calvin Metcalf of Kansas City, Missouri. 1-0 Detroit middleweight prospect Marlon Harrington will face debuting Ricardo Medina of San Antonio, Texas. Debuting heavyweight Jeremiah Milton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, will face 0-5 Jimmie Levins of Buffalo, New York. 2-0-1 female light heavyweight Monika Harrison of Waycross, Georgia, faces debuting Danielle Perkins of Houston, Texas. 2019 National Golden Gloves champion Morris Young Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan, will debut against Andre Topping of San Jose, California, in a four rounder. Also appearing will be 7-0 undefeated super middleweight prospect Cruse “Hitman” Stewart of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in a six-rounder against rugged Mexican veteran Jose Manuel Medrano of Mexico. With over 400 amateur fights and 325 amateur wins, Stewart was a member of an amateur team which included Shawn Porter, Gary Russell Jr., Sadam Ali, and former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Stewart was a seven-time National Golden Gloves Qualifier and a runner-up in 2017, as well as runner-up at the Augusta Open Amateur Invitational, losing to former World Welterweight champion Danny Garcia in the finals.”
