Detroit, MI (August 10th, 2020)– Dmitriy Salita and Salita Promotions will present a seven-bout professional boxing card of young rising prospects at the New Kronk Gym in Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday, August 20, 2020. No boxing fans will be in attendance due to the ongoing COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus pandemic. All fighters, personnel, and officials at ringside will be tested. All protocols of social isolation and masks will be followed for the sake of safety for all.
Robert Brizel: “What is the purpose of hosting a pro boxing card during the pandemic?”
Dmitriy Salita: “The most important thing is to keep all of the fighters busy. We’re working close with the Michigan (Sports) Commission to make sure only the people who need to be there are there. The boxing card will be streamed on UFC Fight pass.”
Robert Brizel: “How’s your star female fighter, WBC and WBO Super Welterweight champion Clarissa Shields?”
Dmitriy Salita: “She’s preparing for a unification bout again International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight champion Marie Decaire at 154 pounds. The fight was supposed to happen on May 9, 2020, on Showtime. We’re working on rescheduling it. Due to the (Coronavirus) pandemic, everything got canceled and postponed. We’re just waiting for a new date for that fight.”
Robert Brizel: “Tell me about the seven-bout card next week in Detroit.”
