Nigerian heavyweight prospect Kingston “The Black Lion” Ibeh, fighting out of Phoenix, Arizona, is one of the top prospects for June 2020. Ibeh, 4-1 with four knockouts, scored an impressive fourth round stoppage on ESPN on June 25, 2020, at The Bubble, MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, avenging an October 2019 four round split decision loss to 5-3 Arizona heavyweight Waldo Cortes Acosta by dropping him and finishing him off at 1:41 of the fourth round to open the televised boxing card.

As boxing begins its gradual return, it is nice to see a young prospect like Ibeh bring hard work and enthusiasm to the table. The impressive televised knockout may not solidify his career just yet, however Ibeh’s performance shows he is a legitimate prospect on the rise.

Result: Kingston Ibeh TKO 4 Waldo Cortes Acosta, Heavyweights (1:41).

In rematch, Ibeh knocked Acosta down and out in the fourth round.
