Super Bad Sensiesa Estrada Stops Bloody Esparza, Wins WBA Title

 Las Vegas, NV (November 4th, 2019)– Here’s one for the ladies. This particular female world title bout was vicious, brutal, gruesome, and ultimately speaking, was bloody as Dracula before it ended, at MGM Grand, Grand Gaden Arena, on Saturday, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 2, 2019.




Sensiesa ‘Super Bad’ Estrada, 18-0 with seven knockouts, East Los Angeles, California, the current World Boxing Council Female Silver Flyweight titleholder, won the interim World Boxing Association World Female Flyweight title by technical decision after nine rounds over previously undefeated Marlen Esparza, 7-1 with one knockout, Houston, Texas. An accidental headbutt opened a horrific nasty gash on Esparza’s forehead with cut the forehead wide open. Scorecards were 90-81, 98-82, 88-83 for Estrada. He rounds were found at the typically male three minutes round version. The usually female world title bout would be ten two minutes rounds or twenty minutes. This particular WBA bout was already 24 minutes deep. The vicious bloody ending, given the high stakes in this female bout, could have been predicted one way or the other. Estrada will now challenge for the full WBA Female Flyweight title against the Japanese world titleholder, 44-year-old Naoko Fujioka of Tokyo, Japan, sometime in early 2020.




Result: Sensiesa Estrada Technical Decision 9 Marlen Esparza, Female Flyweights (3:00)

Estrada wins interim World Boxing Association World Female Flyweight title.

Accidental headbutt stops contest, and sends bout to the scorecards. Three minutes rounds.

Scoring: 90-81, 89-82, 88-83 for Estrada. Referee: Robert Byrd.
