Amateur Champion Yokaste Valle Upsets Joanna Pastrana by Split Decision, Wins IBF Female Title

Marbella, Spain (August 5th, 2019)– Former Costa Rican and Central American female amateur champion Yokasta Valle Alvarez, 18-2 with eight knockouts, Costa Rica, Spain, scored the biggest win of her career on Sunday, traveling to enemy territory and dethroning the world champion. Valle Alvarez, fighting hard, won an upset 10 round split decision over the world champion, Joanna Pastrana, to win the International Boxing Federation World Female Minimumweight title in Marbella, Spain. Pastrana, of Madrid, Spain, fell to 25-2 with five knockouts.

Valle wins International Boxing Federation World Female Minimumweight title.
Scoring: 97-93, 97-93 Valle. 96-94 Patrana. Fought at 10 two minute rounds.
