Adrien Broner Sued Over Cleveland Nightclub VIP Lounge Tongue Kiss

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Toledo, Ohio (June 5th, 2019)– Former Welterweight champion Adrien Broner, currently on probation for assault and unlawful restraint since April 2019, is now being sued over the same incident, which occurred at the downtown Cleveland Park Social Club in June of 2018 in Ohio.

The as yet unidentified 35-year-old woman is claiming Broner approached her in the nightclub VIP area while she was sitting on a couch and forced himself upon her, forcibly kissing her, and putting his tongue down her throat. While in all probability Broner was just committing what he believed was a nightclub joke, and just trying to have a good time, the woman claims she was trapped under Broner’s body weight, and unable to resist until an unknown man pulled Broner off of her.

According to Broner’s criminal lawyer, Ian Friedman, who is defending Broner in the lawsuit, “This type of baseless claim is not surprising. Unfortunately, some people will profile and target wealthy public figures on the hopes of getting an easy payday.”

According to the unidentified woman’s lawyer Ashley Case Sletvold, “Broner did a better job keeping his hands to himself during the (Manny) Pacquiao fight than he did at Park Social.” For Broner, it is just another legal situation compounding his ongoing off again troubles. The victim of the June 2018 lawsuit allegation is seeking damages for pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress, humiliation, and inconvenience, as well as punitive damages, in the Cuyahoga County Court.

Broner, age 29, has a professional record of 33-4-1 with 24 knockouts, has two losses and a draw in his last three fighters, and has not won a bout since winning a 10 round split decision over Adrian Granados at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, in February 2017.
