ROBERT WHITTAKER OUT OF UFC 234 MAIN EVENT
UFC President Dana White told ESPN.com’s Brett Okamoto on Saturday in the US and early Sunday morning in Australia that middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is out of his scheduled title fight with Kelvin Gastelum after being hospitalized the night before. He was diagnosed with a hernia and was set to undergo surgery.
According to White, Whittaker (20-4 MMA, 11-2 UFC) started to complain of pain in his abdomen late last night and was taken to the hospital. His injury isn’t believed to be related to his weight cut.
A middleweight bout between Israel Adesanya vs. Anderson Silva is the new main event for UFC 234 .
