Rule One
Rule: Fighters must be active within one calendar year (12 months) to be eligible for a UBF rating, after names of current UBF, WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO world champions are placed above the ratings.

Rule Two
Rule: Fighters cannot appeal a rating. However, divisional fighters with a winning record and three recent consecutive wins (within one calendar year), or who win a UBF All-regional title can appeal to UBF rating supervisor for a UBF rating if their name does not appear in the current divisional UBF ratings. If the appeal is won, the fighter’s name will appear in UBF divisional ratings for the following month. One appeal per year allowed.
Fighters can also appeal a division, if their most recent fight is in a different division.

Rule Three
Official appeals of UBF fight results made by a fighter, if the UBF subsequently changes the fight result, will affect ratings. The UBF administrator or UBF USA commissioner will notify the rating supervisor of the change in fight result and rule on the rating adjustment.

Rule Four
Rule: Fighters suspended for using illegal substances, Human Growth Hormone (HGH), or steroids are ineligible for UBF ratings until their suspension is lifted by issuing jurisdiction.

Rule Five
Rule: If one or more top UBF contenders are unavailable to fight for a title, a fighter with a winning record can fight for a UBF title if he or she is approved by UBF.

Rule Six
Rule: The titleholder of an All-Universal Boxing Federation regional title, the holder of the European Boxing Union title and / or the Commonwealth British Empire title will receive a top 50 worldwide rating, provided: one, the titular win is within the past 12 months of the rating; two, the titular win is officially recognized; and three, the name of the official supervisor of the UBF or EBU bout appears beneath the official result.

Rule Seven
Rule: If a UBF All-Regional titleholder does not defend his or her title within six months, then his or her title becomes vacant and available. However, if the person subsequently regains their title, their name will be returned to titleholder status.

Rule Eight
The number 1 and 50 contender world ratings position may contain one, two or three names, whereby ratings supervisor finds more than one person worthy of a UBF divisional rating. Female contender world ratings are set at a maximum of 10 per division.

Rule Nine
If a champion recognized on the UBF ratings schematic or a top 50 UBF contender officially retires, or incurs permanent medical injury, their name shall be immediately removed from the ratings the following month, and replaced as soon as officially possible.

Rule Ten
If a fight result is officially overturned, if applicable the UBF ratings will be adjusted.

Rule Eleven
A recognized divisional contender inactive for a year can still be rated if he or she has a pending bout officially scheduled 90 days or less from one year point of their last bout.
